KAFAS SEND-IN GUIDE
How the TuneTools KAFAS Send-In Process Works
The TuneTools KAFAS send-in service is for customers who already have a BMW KAFAS4 MID or KAFAS4 HIGH camera and need compatible FSC unlocking and software preparation. The camera must be removed from the vehicle and sent to the service location supplied after checkout.
1. Confirm the KAFAS4 Version
Before ordering, confirm whether the vehicle uses a KAFAS4 MID or KAFAS4 HIGH camera. The two services are different:
If you are unsure which version you have, contact TuneTools with clear module-label photos and the vehicle details before ordering.
2. Choose Original or Donor Vehicle
On the product page, select whether the camera is original to the installation vehicle or came from a donor vehicle. If it is a donor camera, the complete 17-character VIN of the vehicle where it will be installed is required at checkout. Verify the VIN carefully; an incorrect VIN can cause delays, incompatibility, coding errors, or rework.
3. Complete Checkout
Place the order using the correct MID or HIGH service. After the order is received, TuneTools provides the applicable shipping instructions and service destination. Do not ship the camera before receiving those instructions.
4. Pack and Send the Camera
Remove the camera from the vehicle and protect it against impact, moisture, and static during transit. Include the order information requested in the shipping instructions. Shipping the camera to the service location is the customer’s responsibility and is not included in the listed service price.
5. Unlock, Update, and FSC Preparation
The camera is prepared for the service selected on the product page. This can include an update to the latest compatible BTLD and SWFL software and activation of the supported FSC applications listed for that MID or HIGH service. Coding included with the listed service is coordinated through the TuneTools Poland office where applicable.
6. Return Shipping
Standard return shipping is included in the listed KAFAS send-in service price. Express return shipping may be available for an additional charge; contact TuneTools before ordering for a quote.
7. Reinstallation and Calibration
Physical removal, installation, and any vehicle-side camera calibration are not included unless arranged separately. The customer or installer is responsible for correct reinstallation and any calibration the vehicle requires.
Before You Order
- Confirm MID versus HIGH compatibility.
- For a donor camera, enter the correct 17-character installation-vehicle VIN.
- Wait for TuneTools shipping instructions before sending the camera.
- Package the module securely and use a traceable inbound shipping method.
